Fallout 3, the RPG/FPS open ended offering from Bethesda studios managed to grab Game of the Year at this years Golden Joystick Awards. To be eligible for the award, a game had to be released between May 2008 and May 2009. Fallout 3 proved to go on and beat popular titles such as the Call of Duty series and various offerings from RockStar, the developers of Grand Theft Auto 4.
Since its release, Bethesda has provided 5 expansion packs for avid gamers and Fallout-a-holics to immerse themselves in – ‘Operation Anchorage’, ‘The Pitt’, ‘Broken Steel’, ‘Point Lookout’ and ‘Mothership Zeta’. Each release expands on a section of the game that players will have previously played though, but provides a new slant on the old experience. Each expansion also provides various other goodies such as new quests, items and crucially a few of them also raise the level cap – meaning more perks and stat points. Hurrah!
